GTNP Draft Transportation Plan/Environmental Impact Statement- May 2005

The National Park Service (NPS) proposes to develop and implement a transportation plan for Grand Teton National Park, including roadway shoulder improvements, separated multi-use pathways, traveler information systems, and a limited pilot transit program. The NPS will also test several different management strategies on the Moose – Wilson Road in order to gather information about the best way to maintain the existing character of the corridor, while recognizing its sensitivity for wildlife and scenic values. This course of action would improve and enhance the experience of park visitors. Opportunities to integrate the park's transportation network with those of neighboring communities would also be enhanced.
