Civic Engagement Newsletter - Meeting Presentation

The National Park Service (NPS) seeks public input on a potential land exchange between Virgin Islands National Park and the Territorial government of the US Virgin Islands (GVI) on St. John. The NPS is preparing to conduct an environmental analysis of this project and requests your assistance to identify issues, concerns, and opportunities. Input provided during this process will inform compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and the National Historic Preservation Act.

The proposed action would convey a parcel of land, known as the Catherineberg Estate, to the GVI as a possible location to support the island's education needs. In exchange, the GVI has offered the island of Whistling Cay for consideration.

The park will be holding a virtual civic engagement meeting on April 7, 2022 at 6:00 pm AT/ET. Access the link on the meeting page, links page, or at this address: https://vhb.zoom.us/j/82296945536?pwd=R2lSS0lBRTVNVUt0eVFHdmNJaEVlZz09
