Great Basin National Park will repair the historic Rhodes Cabin situated adjacent the Lehman Caves Visitor Center. The repairs include, repairing and replacing deteriorated daubing, repairing and replacing deteriorated roofing, and improving drainage around the structure. Through a cooperative agreement between the park and Historicorps, historic preservation professionals will lead volunteers in repair work. The work will require two weeks to complete. Following the treatment by Historicorps, the windows will be replaced with period appropriate reproductions at a later date. Rhodes Cabin is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. All repairs comply with The Secretary of Interior Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings.
