Editing error to be fixed: In 2008, the Catawba Indian Nation and the Virginia Council on Indians responded to an NPS request for consultation by agreeing to be consulted on all NPS undertakings involving ground-disturbing activity at Ferry Farm. The NPS formally included both as consulting parties in a resulting Programmatic Agreement, and have consulted both during subsequent NHPA reviews (the Council until its closing last year). For the same reason, the Catawba Indian Nation is a consulting party for the review of this EA. The Catawba Indian Nation and the Virginia Council on Indians are therefore erroneously described on p. 182 of the current, draft EA as non-participating.
