PEPC and Parkplanning will be offline Monday, May 20th, from 8 PM to midnight MT, and Tuesday, May 21st, from 8 PM to midnight MT for network maintenance.

The project includes replacaing the sidewalk along the east end of the Frisco Station parking lot next to Second Street, and the entire length of the sidewalk along the north end of the Frisco Station. Also included in this proposal are two small areas on the northeast side of the Frisco Station.

The design and construction would consist of in-kind replacement using brick pavers to ensure compatibility with other Frisco Station sidewalks and patios. The replacement sidewalks will meet ADA accessibility requirements to provide a stable, firm and slip resistant surface with adequate drainage.

In a 1904 photograph the parking lot is shown containing a row of buildings with some grean space. In the 1970s, before NPS ownership, the building was purchased, severely remodeled on the interior, and became the Argentina Steakhouse and Disco. The parkinglot, brick planter and pavers date from that time period.

* indicates the current step in the planning process
Step 1. Define purpose and need/develop preliminary alternatives
Step 2. Refine alternatives *
Step 3. Identify environmental impacts and select preferred alternative
Step 4. Analysis of public comment
Step 5. Prepare final plan/decision document
Step 6. Release final plan/decision document to the public

The project would allow the installation of sidewalks that would meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). It will make another important section of the park available to visitors with accessibility needs.
