Thank you for your interest in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and in the Protecting & Restoring Native Ecosystems by Managing Non-Native Ungulates Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (plan/EIS).

Your input is an important part of the planning process. In 2008, the National Park Service conducted public scoping for the plan/EIS, which included three public meetings and a public comment period. The input received during public scoping will help shape the plan/EIS. A report on comments received during public scoping is available by clicking on the "Document List" link to the left.

Upcoming steps in the planning process include the development of management alternatives and environmental impacts analysis. There will be additional opportunity for your participation during future steps in the planning process, including when the Draft plan/EIS is released, which is anticipated in 2010.
