The National Park Service is completing environmental planning, compliance, and consultation to evaluate the WSDOT proposal to meet the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, Wilderness Act, and the Clean Water Act.
The National Park Service is currently in the early planning stages and is seeking public input to help identify potential issues or impacts, to learn of other existing information that would help with evaluating the proposed action, and to request input regarding other alternatives that should be considered to address the near-term risks at this location.

Step 1. Define purpose and need/develop preliminary alternatives
Step 2. Conduct Civic Engagement to help inform analysis of the proposed action *
Step 3. Refine alternatives
Step 4. Identify environmental impacts and select preferred alternative
Step 5. Prepare draft environmental analysis document and draft wilderness minimum requirement analysis
Step 6. Public review of draft plan/environmental document/draft wilderness minimum requirement analysis
