Backcountry and Wilderness Stewardship Plan public scoping meetings

Meetings will be open-house style, with displays including a planning area map, anticipated issues, planning process, and people using wilderness. Park staff will be on hand to discuss issues or answer questions. Take-home flyers will be available to facilitate making comments.
 
Description:
Public scoping meetings and public input are used to help staff refine the scope of the backcountry and wilderness stewardship plan. Comments are also used to identify management issues and to develop desired conditions, backcountry/wilderness management zones, and management alternatives. Your participation is important and welcome. The intial round of public scoping meetings will be held in the following locations at the following times:

This meeting will be a presentation style covering the Wilderness Act of 1964 and ANILCA of 1980, with time at the end for question and answer. Take home flyers and informational handouts will be available to facilitate comments.
 
Description:
This particular meeting is to explain the legal guidance of two important laws the NPS must abide by when developing this plan. Public scoping meetings and public input are used to help staff refine the scope of the backcountry and wilderness stewardship plan. Comments are also used to identify management issues and to develop desired conditions, backcountry/wilderness management zones, and management alternatives. Your participation is important and welcomed.
