TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI

 
Description:
The City of Tupelo has scheduled an open forum public hearing to discuss proposed construction of a five-lane major thoroughfare arterial extending and connecting Coley Road from McCullough Boulevard to Highway 78 (future Interstate 22) and Barnes Crossing Road from North Gloster Street to the same location on Highway 78. The proposed project will include a grade separated crossing at the Natchez Trace Parkway, a grade separated interchange at Highway 78 and an at grade intersection at Mount Vernon Road.
Citizens are invited to come and go as they please during the hours of the hearing to view the alternatives and to speak to representatives of the agencies involved concerning design and environmental issues. Although there will be no provisions made for formal presentations by individuals or groups, citizens are encouraged to make written and/or taped comments that will become part of the hearing's permanent record.

The Draft Environmental Assessment document will be available for public inspection at the Mayor's Office, Tupelo City Hall, 71 Troy Street, Tupelo, MS; the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitors Center, Tupelo, MS; the Mississippi Department of Transportation Administrative Office Building, Environmental/Location Division, 401 North West Street, Jackson, MS; the MDOT First District Office, 1909 North Gloster Street, Tupelo, MS; and the Federal Highway Administration, 666 North Street, Suite 105, Jackson, MS.
