Please join the National Park Service on Saturday, October 22nd, 2005 at the Brooklyn Public Library to learn more about the draft recommendations for the African Burial Ground. National Park Service Staff will be available between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pm to provide information about the alternatives recommended for the future management of the African Burial Ground and how you can provide input to the planning process.

 
Description:
Information will be available describing the purpose and need for the project, the management alternatives recommended, as well as a suggested mission statement, mission goals, interpretive themes and scenarios. The meeting will be held as an open house with display panels presenting relevant information and NPS staff will be available to answer questions about the project and draft report.

Meeting Directions/Instructions:
Subway: 2/3 to Grand Army Plaza or Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum of Art station, or Q to 7th Avenue. Bus: B41, B69, B71 (B45, B48, B67 2-4 blocks) Car: From Manhattan - Brooklyn Bridge and left onto Tillary, then right onto Flatbush Avenue. Or take Manhattan Bridge, which turns into Flatbush Ave. From Brooklyn and Queens - BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway) to Tillary exit. Take a left onto Flatbush Ave. All approaches - Follow Flatbush Avenue about two miles to enter traffic circle around Grand Army Plaza. Central Library is on the far side of traffic circle.
