Richmond National Battlefield Park's portion of Chimborazo Park is slated for
capital improvements, exhibit upgrades, and new outdoor waysides beginning in
2026.

This multi-year process will be more equitable and inclusive with community
participation which is why you are invited to one of two public planning sessions.
 
Description:
For decades, the park's interpretation has focused on Confederate medical history
between 1861-1865. But with new scholarship and public input, we are expanding
the narrative to incorporate more untold stories that predate and postdate the
Civil War.
