Description:
The National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting comment on a Draft Accessibility Self Evaluation and Transition Plan (SETP) for Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. This Draft SETP identifies key visitor experiences at the park and the existing barriers to accessing these experiences for people with disabilities. The plan provides recommendations for how to remove barriers, including specific actions, example site plans, and anticipated time frames for implementation. A 62-day comment period opens today. A public open house will be held at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial July 21, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm CST beginning at the Memorial Visitor Center with an introduction of the program objectives at 5:00 pm Central Standard Time.

Through implementation of the SETP the NPS anticipates that facilities as well as numerous programs, services, and activities the NPS offers will be more universally accessible, and park experiences, such as accessing the park facilities and grounds, experiencing the Living Historical Farm, picnicking with friends and family, and participating in park opportunities will be enhanced and welcoming to all park visitors. All recommended actions in the plan will be subject to funding, consultation with other agencies and associated tribes, and compliance with federal laws, such as the National Environmental Policy Act.

To learn more, review the Draft SETP, and provide written comments please visit the NPS Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website at https://pepc.nps.gov/basicInformation.cfm?projectID=110577&

Comments on this plan will be accepted through August 31, 2022.
Written comments may also be sent by mail to Superintendent Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial Attention: LIBO SETP, 3027 E. South Street, Lincoln City, IN 47552.
