The National Park Service has finalized plans for the future of Harmony Hall, a historic site in Prince George's County, MD. The Harmony Hall Development Concept Plan re-envisions the site as an opportunity to experience and connect with nature, learn about history and enjoy open space and water access. You're invited to review the plan and attend a virtual public meeting on July 21 to learn more.

Harmony Hall is a 65-acre site that includes wetlands, forests, historic structures and archeological ruins along the Potomac River. The site shares a complex social and physical history associated with Native Americans, enslaved people and the civil rights movement.

The release of this plan represents the conclusion of a year-long process that started in March 2021 and involved significant public engagement. The plan will serve as a framework for actions relating to the protection of resources, evaluate opportunities for visitor use and experience and expand coordination with public and private partners.

The plan will allow the park to:

- Stabilize historic structures, including the Want Water ruins.
- Establish options for the reuse of the Harmony Hall house, stable and bungalow with
opportunities for leasing partnerships.
- Expand the park trail system and create a water access point.
- Create an informative garden.
- Enhance entrance and wayfinding signage.
