Sperry Chalet, the Next 100 Years

Glacier National Park » Sperry Chalet, the Next 100 Years » Document List

The National Park Service is beginning public scoping on the proposed restoration of the Sperry Chalet experience in Glacier National Park. An environmental assessment will be prepared. A scoping brochure is available. There will be a public meeting in Kalispell Montana on February 28, 2018 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Flathead Valley Community College.

This is the first of several opportunities for the public to engage and comment and we hope that the ideas generated will be informative to Anderson Hallas, our selected architects, as they engage in the design process. Other opportunities for public input will include a meet and greet with Anderson Hallas and an online meeting. Please stay tuned for the dates of these meetings.

An environmental assessment will be available for public review in September 2018. Additional meetings will be held at that time.

Sperry Chalet Dormitory burned during an ember storm from the Sprague Fire last summer. Firefighters and four helicopters on scene were successful in defending four of the five structures that compose the historic Sperry Chalet Complex.

Public scoping comments are due by April 2, 2018 and can be submitted on line by clicking either Document List or Open for Comment on the left hand side of this screen.
