Create Kipahulu District Comprehensive Plan
The National Park Service is in the process of developing a new comprehensive plan for the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park. This plan will focus on improving visitor experience, natural and cultural resource protection, and park operations. It will identify the overall direction for the future development of this area of the park. The plan will take into consideration ideas, issues, and visions for the Kīpahulu District identified by park staff and the public. This project was initially started years ago and was put on hold because of interrupted funding. We are committed to keeping the community engaged with this project as it develops.
