Welcome to the National Park Service's Planning, Environment, and Public Comment website for the Buffalo National River - River Management Plan. The National Park Service (NPS) will use this website to share public information throughout the planning process, including project background materials, meeting dates and location(s), project updates, and guidance for submitting public comments.

The river management plan will provide guidance for future management decisions for a range of river-based recreational opportunities and visitor experiences. The planning process will promote the protection of the river's free-flowing character, natural and cultural resources, and quality visitor experiences. Issues to be considered and addressed in the river management plan include river health, crowding and safety, river access, commercial and noncommercial use, infrastructure needs, and overarching management considerations such as national river significance and the protection of wilderness character.
