George Washington Birthplace National Monument proposes to use a Special Use Permit to allow specific and controlled farming of 105 acres of previously planted crop fields in order to carry out a land management program, to allow for the agricultural use of these park lands visible to the public in order to perpetuate the historic scene of a traditional farm landscape, to control invasive exotic vegetation, to maintain wildlife habitat, and to protect surrounding waterway through the use of buffer areas of warm season grasses.
The permittee will be responsible for adherence to the terms and conditions of the permit.
