A portion of the picnic area access road drainage system is failing and washing out around a pipe that runs under the road. Recent rainfall events have contributed to the failure and erosion. During heavy rainfall events the drain becomes clogged with leaves and debris. When this occurs the water is diverting around the drain along the outside of the pipe. Water is boiling out if the ground around the outflow end of the pipe instead of flowing through the pipe. It is unclear how mush has washed out under the road surface.
