Install a 36inch x 48inch upright interpretive wayside exhibit on the Trail of Tears Water Route. This project was planned and funded through the National Trails Intermountain Region in partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers (see attached PMIS detail). The National Trail System Act specifies that all NHT routes will be marked with appropriate signing. Currently there are no signs identifying the water route of the Trail of Tears and very limited interpretation or information at a few select sites.
ARPO has chosen an existing wayside exhibit location to minimize impacts to resources. The proposed location is at the Arkansas River Overlook exhibit (see attached map)
