The Flushing Remonstrance Special Resource Study was authorized by the United States Congress through S. 3051 of Public Law 113-291. This legislation directed the Department of the Interior through the National Park Service to conduct a study that will help determine whether the resources related to the Flushing Remonstrance would meet criteria for congressional designation as a unit of the National Park System.
