Reopening Keane Wonder Mine to the Public

Death Valley National Park » Reopening Keane Wonder Mine to the Public » Document List

On November 7, Death Valley will host a grand reopening event for Keane Wonder Mine. The charismatic historic mine, mill site and aerial tram have been closed since 2008 while the park mitigated safety hazards.

The safety hazards have been analyzed and mitigation measures are in place. The mill tailings will continue to be monitored and should be avoided by the public. The public should observe all Mine Safety Hazard information provided at the site.
