Fisheries Management Plan/EIS

Glacier National Park » Fisheries Management Plan/EIS » Document List

Glacier National Park is developing a plan and environmental impact statement (EIS) to address a number of large-scale issues facing the park's native aquatic ecosystems, including the severely detrimental and potentially widespread effects of climate change and non-native invasive species. The purpose of the plan/EIS is to develop an integrated and adaptive approach to the restoration, conservation, and future management of native aquatic species and their habitats across the park. Objectives are to maintain the park's native aquatic ecosystems where they remain intact, restore altered aquatic ecosystems to historic (1910) conditions where possible, provide refugia for native aquatic species confronted with the effects of climate change, protect native fish from the effects of non-native invasive species, and continue the park's collaborative contribution to native fish and aquatic ecosystem conservation on a regional level.
