New Permitting Process - Volleyball Courts

National Mall and Memorial Parks » New Permitting Process - Volleyball Courts » Document List

A new permitting process has been instituted for the volleyball courts located in West Potomac Park, along Parkway Drive. In the past, permitting for these courts was done through the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. Now, NPS will be administering the permitting through www.recreation.gov.

There are 11 volleyball courts located in West Potomac Park, along Parkway Drive. These courts are numbered 1 through 11 with the appropriate court number appearing on one of the net posts of each court. A reservation is required for use of courts 1-6 and 11, Sunday-Saturday, from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. In order to reserve a court(s) you must go online to www.recreation.gov and apply for a Special Use Permit.

There is a non-refundable fee of $30.00 for a (2-hour) use period. The issued permit will list the court number, and the date and time (2 hours per permit) of the reservation. A hard copy of the Special Use Permit must be present during the time of use. A SUP must be produced and displayed to "bump" and/or keep other players from that court.
