This project has been categorically excluded from further review under the National Environmental Policy Act. The National Park Service may proceed with the installation of traffic safety devices, starting with mile post markers, along the primary thoroughfares of Mojave National Preserve: Kelbaker road, Kelso-Cima Road, Cima Road, Morning Star Mine Road, Lanfair Road, Ivanpah Road, Essex Road, Black Canyon Road. Cedar Canyon Road is also considered a primary toroughfare and will have mile post markers eventually. Other road work included in this categorical exclusion are: repair, resurfacing, striping, and repair/replacement of guardrails on existing roads.
