Ambler Mining District Industrial Access Project EEA

Gates Of The Arctic National Park and Preserve » Ambler Mining District Industrial Access Project EEA » Document List

Dear Friends,

The NPS is initiating an Environmental and Economic Impact Analysis (EEA) in response to a Right-of-Way application received from the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority for access across approximately 20 miles of the Kobuk River unit (aka 'the boot') of Gates of the Arctic National Preserve as part of the proposed the Ambler Mining District Industrial Access Project. The NPS is required by law to permit this access. Two potential routes across NPS lands were identified in the project application materials. The EEA will examine each of these routes.

At this time, we are pleased to invite public input in order to: 1) determine a preferred road alignment, and 2) develop appropriate terms and conditions for its use.

For additional background information and to submit comments, please click the 'Open for Comment' tab at the left. To view the revised final project application, please click the "Document List" tab. A simplified route map is included here as well.

Thank you for your interest in this important issue. Your comments will assist the NPS in developing this Right-of-Way permit and the accompanying terms and conditions.
