The monument has received a request for a special use permit for a charity bicycle ride to be held on April 21, 2007.
The route would start and end in Blanding, and would travel around the loop road in Natural Bridges. Authorization for up to 200 riders and five support vehicles is requested. Sponsors would provide first aid and vehicles to pick up disabled participants and bikes. No area would be closed to the public; normal access and traffic flow on the loop road would not be affected. Support vehicles would travel around the park and would be subject to normal one-way traffic flow regulations. Because of the distance between Blanding and Natural Bridges, participants would be expected to be dispersed by the the time they reach the monument.
