Shoreline Stabilization and Boat Dock Replacement

Fort Matanzas National Monument » Shoreline Stabilization and Boat Dock Replacement

For this project, the NPS is proposing to replace the existing dock on Rattlesnake Island, which was constructed in 1979 to provide access to the fort. Several other features that are protecting the shoreline from further erosion are also in need of repair. These features include a coquina seawall, three groins and a concrete capped steel bulkhead that surrounds the fort on three sides.
