Sewall-Belmont House Feasibility Study

National Park Service - Washington Office » Sewall-Belmont House Feasibility Study » Document List

In 2013, Former Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar requested this feasibility study to consider the potential of incorporating the Sewall-Belmont House as a full unit of the national park system, to be administered as part of the National Mall and Memorial Parks (NAMA). The site is an NPS affiliated area owned and operated by the National Woman's Party (NWP). The study focused on feasibility and determination of the need for NPS management. This feasibility study was undertaken as a type of reconnaissance survey, a limited special study that the NPS is authorized to conduct without prior Congressional approval. A reconnaissance survey may update previous studies or provide preliminary assessments of resources regarding eligibility for inclusion in the national park system.
