Forks of the Road Slave Market Site Boundary Adjustment Study

Natchez National Historical Park » Forks of the Road Slave Market Site Boundary Adjustment Study

The Forks of the Road Slave Market Site was the location of one of the great tragedies of U.S. history - the forced migration of thousands of enslaved African Americans from the East Coast into the Deep South in the years before the Civil War. The transfer of property at the Forks of the Road to the NPS will allow for its preservation and interpretation for generations to come.
