The Moab Music Festival, a nonprofit corporation, requests a special use permit to hold three chamber music concerts in a natural grotto near the Colorado River. The concerts are each expected to involve about 100 patrons, 10 musicians, and 10 support staff. Musicians will play acoustic instruments, including a piano. There will be no artificial lighting, sound amplification, use of generators, or alteration of the site. Performers, support crew, audience, and equipment will travel to the grotto by jetboat and will not stay overnight. Portable toilets will be available. All equipment used for the concerts will be portable and will be removed after the events. The grotto will continue to be open to the public during the concerts.
