Fulton County Sewer Line Install and Tie-in with Cobb County

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area » Fulton County Sewer Line Install and Tie-in with Cobb County » Document List

Chattahoochee River NRA (CRNRA) is considering the issuance of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to the Fulton County Department of Public Works (FCDPW) for the installation of a new diversion sewer line in the Johnson Ferry North (JFN) unit of the park. The sewer line provides a bypass system during the upgrade of the Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility. The upgrade is to accommodate an increase in wastewater treatment demand that has resulted from the urbanization of the surrounding area and alleviate the sewage overflows into the Chattahoochee River. The new sewer line will connect to a Cobb County Water System line with the available capacity for treatment. The proposed pipeline right-of-way within JFN will be approximately 1.2 miles long and 20 feet wide.
