Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce the release of the General Management Plan for Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park. The plan explores three different alternatives for developing and managing the new national park in Richmond, California; Alternative B, Explore Richmond to Understand the National Home Front Story, has been identified as the "preferred alternative." We invite you to review the plan and share your thoughts with us. In addition, we would like to receive your ideas on how to begin implementing the concepts expressed in the plan.

To comment on the document, click on the "Document List" link on the left and select the General Management Plan document. On the page that shows the PDF files for downloading, there will be a "Comment on Document" link that will take you to the page to submit your comments on this website. (The document will be posted soon for you to provide comments) The National Park Service will accept public comments until April 29, 2009.

We also invite you to an open house where you can explore the alternatives and talk with park staff. The open house is schedule for Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm in City Council Chambers at the interim Richmond City Hall, 1401 Marina Way South. Your written comments can be submitted at the open house.

We look forward to hearing from you and we encourage your participation as we work together to implement the plan for the new Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park.

Sincerely,
Martha J. Lee
