EE/CA and Removal Action for Former Firing Range 2019

Lassen Volcanic National Park » EE/CA and Removal Action for Former Firing Range 2019 » Document List

The NPS is seeking comments on the Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) that was prepared to consider removal actions for the Former Firing Range used by Lassen Volcanic National Park (LAVO) in Shasta County, California under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liabilities Act (CERCLA). The EE/CA identifies removal action objectives for protection of human health and the environment, identifies removal action alternatives, and assesses the effectiveness, operational feasibility, and cost of the alternatives. Accordingly, the NPS has determined that the use of removal action authority at LAVO to investigate, abate, prevent, minimize, stabilize, mitigate, and/or eliminate the release or threat of release of hazardous substances at or from the Site may be appropriate. A planning period of at least six months exists before on-site activities may be initiated.
