JOTR Campground Fee Increase to Offset CLIN Fees

Joshua Tree National Park » JOTR Campground Fee Increase to Offset CLIN Fees » Document List

Joshua Tree National Park is proposing to raise campground fees by $5.00 per night for campgrounds that can be reserved through www.recreation.gov. The increased fee would result in the following rate changes:

Campgrounds without Water: The price per night would increase from 15.00 per night to $20.00 per night for the following campgrounds:
> Jumbo Rocks Campground
> Ryan Campground

Campgrounds with Water: The price per night would rise from $20.00 per night to $25.00 per night for the following campgrounds:
> Black Rock Campground
> Cottonwood Campground
> Indian Cove Campground

Campgrounds Not Currently Reservable: All first come/first served sites would remain at $15/night for the following campgrounds:
> Belle Campground
> White Tank Campground
> Hidden Valley Campground

The purpose of raising the campground fees is to cover Joshua Tree National Park's cost of using the national reservation service contract - www.recreation.gov. Recreation.gov charges contractor line item (CLIN) costs ranging from $3-4 per night per reservation. By recovering these contractor CLIN costs, Joshua Tree National Park would be able to reinvest these funds into enhancing visitor services and facilities within the park. Currently, the park assumes this cost.
