Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument » Replace Dilapidated Maintenance Storage Barn/Facility » Document List

The National Park Service is providing information to the public that starting in the Fall of 2013, we are planning on starting construction of a on a new maintenance facility, which will be located within the 55-acre parcel of National Park Service land located off the E 2830 S road in Hagerman, Idaho.

This construction project is the first phase of development for this area that in the future will include a Research Center and Museum along with an interpretive trail. In 1993, a Site Selection Planning Study/Environmental Assessment was conducted and in 1995 a preliminary Site Plan: Research Center and Museum was completed, indicating this future development.

If you would like to comment on this project, submit your comments in writing to the National Park Service Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) web site at: http://parkplanning.nps.gov by May 22, 2013.

The new maintenance building will be approximately 2,916 square feet and will include a horizontal underground geothermal heating system and solar power panels on the building's roof.

This facility will serve the maintenance operations of Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument and Minidoka National Historic Site.
