Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark Facility Support Plan
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve » Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark Facility Support Plan » Document List
NPS is seeking public input on how it can support NPS operations, manage facilities, and improve visitor amenities within the landmark and along the McCarthy-Kennecott road corridor. This includes efficient transportation of people within the planning area; staging supplies needed for historic stabilization work; how visitors can receive information and services; and locations where NPS employees need office space and housing.
In particular, the NPS seeks public comments regarding the options that should be evaluated as alternatives in the Support Facility Plan and EA for the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark. Public meetings will be held during April 2005 in Anchorage and McCarthy. The public is welcome to attend either meeting and participate in the planning process.
The Anchorage meeting will be on Thursday, April 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Aspen Hotel conference room, 108 East 8th Avenue.
The McCarthy meeting will be on Wednesday, April 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Zak Building.
