Dewitt School District has applied for a special use permit to use the park as their location for the 2017 Cross Country Track Event on October 7, 2017. The applicant has requested day-use of the Post Bayou Nature Trail, Nature Trail Loop, Picnic Area, park roads, and parking lots. The event is expected to have 150-200 participants with an estimated 50 vehicles and 10 buses.
