Climate Monitoring Program in the Arctic Alaska Network

Alaska Regional Office » Climate Monitoring Program in the Arctic Alaska Network » Document List

The National Park Service is considering expansion of the remote automated weather station network in the Arctic Alaska Inventory and Monitoring Network. The Arctic Network consists of Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, Noatak National Preserve, Kobuk Valley National Park, Cape Krusenstern National Monument, and Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. The proposed action would expand the RAWS program by establishing additional stations to collect basic climatological data including air and soil temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, and snow depth.
