Great Basin National Park is proposing to increase fees for cave tours, camping and use of the dump station. These changes are proposed to take effect on January 1, 2021.
Fees collected from the sale of cave tour tickets are used to cover the costs associated with providing cave tours. They are used to pay administrative costs for the use of www.recreation.gov so the public could reserve spaces for cave tours, hiring staff to conduct cave tours, purchasing supplies and educational items used during cave tours. Cave tour fees for the Grand Palace Tour will increase from $11 to $15 for adults, and youth ages 5 to 15 from $6 to $8. Tour fees to the Lodge Room will increase from $9 to $12 for adults and youth ages 5 to 15 from $5 to $6. Babies and toddlers will remain at no charge.
Great Basin National Park has made improvements to park campgrounds since 2015. These improvements include the installation of new restrooms, picnic tables, fire pits, grills, tent pads, kiosks, trails. Camping fees collected are used to pay administrative costs associated with the use of www.recreation.gov to reserve campsites, hire staff to maintain campgrounds and restrooms, and purchase necessary supplies and equipment. Proposed campground fees will increase from $15 to $20 per night. The use of the dump station will increase from $5 to $10.
Discounts of 50% still apply for Senior pass and Access pass holders.
