Modernize ZION's Online Wilderness [Backcountry] Reservation and Permit System

An online user profile function has been added to the ZION Wilderness Reservation and Permit System. This function allows users to create a dedicated user profile and reduces the amount of time spent entering information when making multiple or repeat wilderness reservations. This new feature will also provide visitors with the ability to view their profile, review existing Zion Wilderness reservations, includes a status indicator for submitted lottery application, and will send an automatic email confirmation to reservation holders two weeks prior to a scheduled trip.

The processes for obtaining a Wilderness Permit, making a reservation, applying for the advance lottery or the last minute drawing has not changed. Creating a user profile is free and can be done at online at any time using the ZION Wilderness Reservation and Permit System. To improve the likelihood of securing a permit for their desired Wilderness area, visitors are encouraged to use the advance reservation system which allows users to schedule a trip up to up to three months in advance.
