The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to announce the release of the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Restore Asan Springs Water Supply Facility Environmental Assessment. The FONSI was signed by the Regional Director of Interior Regions 8, 9, 10, and 12 on August 29, 2024. This concludes the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process for this project and completes the planning process.

The project will restore the Asan Springs Water Supply Facility to increase input to the Agana-Asan-Piti Integrated Water Supply and Storage System to meet water supply demands. The project will involve rehabilitation and replacement of existing components, and installment of new components to collect, treat, and distribute potable water to the village of Asan (the Project). The National Park Service will issue a Right of Way Permit to Guam Waterworks Authority to operate and maintain the facility.

The National Park Service released the Restore Asan Springs Water Supply Facility Environmental Assessment for public review and comment. between March 24 and April 24, 2024. No comments were received.
