National Mall and Memorial Parks Begins Planning Process for Environmental Assessment for the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Accessibility Improvements
The National Park Service (NPS) is preparing an environmental assessment (EA) in support of a proposed project to address universal accessibility improvements at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, a site administered by National Mall and Memorial Parks. The EA will include an assessment of cultural resources potentially affected by the proposed action consistent with provisions of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966 (as amended), as applicable. Full NHPA Section 106 compliance will be conducted by the NPS separately from, but concurrent with the EA.
