Proposed Glacier Bay Cruise Ship Quotas for Operating Years 2017-2020

Glacier Bay Superintendent Philip Hooge has proposed that the seasonal cruise ship quotas for operating years 2017 through 2020 remain at the 2016 levels. Over the next three years, the NPS will be completing new Wilderness Stewardship and Frontcountry Management Plans as well as offering a competitive prospective opportunity to provide cruise ship visitor services in Glacier Bay. Any changes in cruise ship seasonal entries, vessel operating requirements, and related commercial visitor service opportunities would thus be best evaluated and implemented after these processes are complete.
