Lake Clark National Park and Preserve is proposing to add guided canoeing and paddle boarding, kayak, canoe, and paddle board rentals, and similar non-motorized water based boating related activities to the list of authorized commercial use activities allowable within the park and preserve. All activities will be operated through non-motorized means. These activities may occur at relatively low levels in the Port Alsworth area on Lake Clark and Lake Kontrashibuna, and associated tributaries. It is possible these activities may expand to other park waters in the future. Current commercial use authorization stipulations are sufficient to mitigate any potential environmental concerns these activities may pose.

With the addition of this activity, non-motorized water craft equipment rentals and guided trips would be authorized for active commercial use authorization holders in or on bodies of water within the boundaries of the park and/or preserve.
