Proposal to Increase Entrance Fees at Fort Pulaski National Monument

Fort Pulaski National Monument » Proposal to Increase Entrance Fees at Fort Pulaski National Monument » Document List

Fort Pulaski National Monument is seeking public input to gauge support for a proposed entrance fee increase. The comment period is open from November 17, 2014 through December 17, 2014. The fee program is critical, as 80% of fees collected stay within the park to maintain and improve facilities and services that benefit the visitor experience.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is a strong economic engine for the region and local communities. In 2013, more than 374,408 park visitors contributed $22 million to the local economy and supported 302 jobs in the local area. Previous fee increases have not impacted visitation levels in a negative way. This proposed fee increase is part of a larger National Park Service initiative to standardize fees in similar national parks across the country.
