Tanalian Mountain and Falls Trail Reroute

Lake Clark National Park & Preserve » Tanalian Mountain and Falls Trail Reroute

Lake Clark Nat'l Park and Preserve is proposing to reroute short segments of the Tanalian Falls and Tanalian Mountain trail systems near Port Alsworth, AK. Approximately 300 feet total of trail need to be rerouted to mitigate erosion along steep gradient areas. The primary trail reroute section will consist of several switchbacks through alder (Alnus spp.) which will be the predominant vegetation removed for this work. Trail work will not occur within designated wilderness and will be accomplished by trained Student Conservation Association trail crews and park trails staff using hand tools
