Partial replacement of gas line behind Visitor Center (S-31)

Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Partial replacement of gas line behind Visitor Center (S-31) » Document List

This project will replace steel pipe that runs from a gas meter installed behind the Visitor Center in ca. 2010 out to the plastic main. The pipe, which extends about 2 feet down from the meter set in a sunken access ramp, bends out and runs approximately 4-5 feet through an earth berm located on the northeast side of the Visitor Center. The area is only used by utilities and staff but is visible from the bus parking lot and alley used by many visitors. All work will be completed by the local gas company's contractor, who will also replace all concrete removed, and return the landscaping to its locations. This is preventative maintenance- -no emergency break-downs have occured.
