The Superintendent of Scotts Bluff National Monument proposes to remodel the interior of the Admininstration Building. The administrative building is also known as "Residence #1, Historic Structure 03. This remodel project has several phases. 1) An interior doorway will be made through an extisting interior wall. This new doorway will allow people to walk straight through from the back door to the central hallway of the building. 2) The existing doorway near the back door into the furnace room will be sealed. 3) The current furnace room will be remodeled to add a restroom. 4) The existing bathroom will be remodeled into an office supplies storage room. 5) The existing bathroom will be made into a storage room for office supplies. 5) An interior wall and doorway will be added in what was originally the residence's living rooom. This will wall off the current front office from the front door. The room is currently being utilized as the adminitrative technician's office. 6) A door will be added to what was origianlly a closet and now contains the IT equipemnt. 7) A room that origianlly was for a range and refrigerator and a pass through to the backdoor, will be walled off on its southside with exit only tpo the back door. 8) Existing cabinets will be removed. All proposed construction will alter the interior structure of the original 1938 building and the 1949 additions of the furnace room and hallway. The rear bedroom, now an office will not be effected by this proposed project. The project will not change the exterior of the building.
