On behalf of the Alaska Region of the National Park Service, I am pleased to announce the release of the Land Protection Plan for Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. Enclosed is a copy for your information and reference.
A Land Protection Plan is required for any park or preserve that contains private or nonfederal lands or interest within the authorized boundary. The plan clearly and concisely articulates what lands or interests in land the park may have and what means of protection are available to achieve the purposes for which the unit was created. This land protection plan does not constitute an offer to purchase land or interest in land, nor does it diminish the rights of nonfederal landowners. The plan is intended to guide the park's land protection activities subject to the availability of funds and other constraints.
We welcome your feedback on this Land Protection Plan. Our next steps are to finalize this plan and publish it on the park website as part of the portfolio guiding management of the park. Your feedback would be most helpful if received by July 10th, 2013.
We appreciate your interest in and involvement with Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
Sincerely,
Margaret L. Goodro
Superintendent, Lake Clark National Park and Preserve
