The proposed work will include the following;
-Removal of debris deposited by flood waters
-Removal of hazard trees
-Removal of silt deposition. The silt will be removed in accordance to Maryland Department of Environment regulations, preventing silt from entering waterways.
-Repairs to gravel parking lots and roadways to include selective grading and replacement in kind of surface dressing
-Selective repairs to paved roadways to include patching of failed surfaces
-Repairs, as needed to roadway structures to include signs, guardrails, and fencing
Work will be undertaken by NPS day labor crews.
The park's Interdisciplinary Team reviewed the project for impacts to natural and cultural resources. The project does not pose any serious or long-term effects to the environmental, historical, cultural, archeological, or visual resources. It meets categorical exclusion #C.3 – Routine maintenance and repairs to non-historic structures, facilities, utilities, grounds, and trails.
Upon review under the National Historic Preservation Act/Section 106 Programmatic Agreement, no historic properties will be affected.
